International seminar “Contribution of the young Russian scientists into the research of heavy ions and antiprotons” (hereinafter – Seminar) is organized by the FAIR – Russia Research Center (FRRC) and will take place in the building 40 of NRC ''Kurchatov Institute'' – ITEP on 11-14 of December 2017.

The target audience of the 2017 Seminar will be the Russian students, PhD students and young PhDs, who have applied for participation in the Ninth FRRC Contest among master students, PhD students and young PhDs and in the Second FRRC contest among young group leaders on antiproton and ion interactions research (hereinafter – Contests). The leading Russian and foreign scientists, who work in the field of heavy ions and antiprotons research, will participate in the Seminar as experts.

The program of the Seminar includes presentation of the projects for 2018-2022 and reports on the results of work in 2017 in the scope of the research on the FAIR science, the “NICA” complex and the U-70. The working language of the seminar will be English.

The young scientists will present to the Commission of the Contest the projects, on which they plan to carry out research in case of winning the Contests. Each presentation for the Ninth Contest among young scientists takes up to 20 minutes. After each talk there will be 10 more minutes for collective discussion by the Contest Commission and the other participants of the Seminar. Some of the scientists, who have applied for participation in the Ninth Contest and who are now the winners of the Eighth Contest will present the results of their work for the past year. Each presentation for the Second contest among young group leaders takes up to 40 minutes. After each talk there will be 20 more minutes for collective discussion by the Contest Commission. Besides that, the Contest Commission will hold the closed session for selection of winners of the Contests.

Participation and application procedure

Participation in the Seminar is obligatory for those who will receive invitation from the Organizing Committee. The contenders will receive the invitation and must register by filling out the from at the FRRC website in the announcement on the Seminar. Participants must be present at the day of their presentation. Presentations of the leaders will be listened to individually. Organizational expenses will be paid by the Organizing Committee. Travel and accommodation must be paid by the participants or by their respective sending organizations.
