Second FAIR-Russia Research Center Contest among young group leaders on antiproton and ion research for 2018-2022

The Second Contest among young group leaders on antiproton and ion research (hereinafter – Contest), participating in research work on scientific topics of the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research in Europe (hereinafter – FAIR), the “NICA” complex (Dubna) and the U-70 accelerator (Protvino) in educational and scientific centers of the Russian Federation, is announced in the scope of FAIR-Russia Research Center (hereinafter – FRRC).

The Contest aims to support the most talented and active Russian scientists as well as their becoming as leaders in the respective fields of science with the prospective of future career growth. Besides the Contest helps to increase the interest in carrying out research on the topics of the FAIR project, the “NICA” complex and the U-70 accelerator in the Russian research organizations in accordance with the Topics of the Contest.

The target audience of the Contest are young the Russian scientists, who are already working in established research groups or planning to gather such a group, possessing leader qualities and great reputation in the scientific society, interested in further work on the research topics of the FAIR project, the “NICA” complex and the U-70 accelerator in the Russian research centers.

Participation conditions

To participate in the Contest one must provide FRRC in paper and via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. not later that 15th of September of 2017:

- filled application form;

- recommendation letters:

  • from two foreign scientists, containing review for the applicant and for his group and confirming interest in applicant’s research (in English) - copy is enough;
  • from a Russian scientist, containing review for the applicant and for his group and confirming interest in applicant’s research (in English);
  • from the director of the organization, in which the applicant works (in Russian);

- consent to the proceeding of personal data in a specific form.

Requirements to applicants

- a leader should be a young scientist, a PhD of up to 35 years old at the time of the appliance, working in a scientific organization and having published at least 10 articles in refereed journals;

- participants of the group are selected by the leader, they could be master students, PhD students or PhDs, involved into research on FAIR, NICA or U-70.

Applicants must be citizens of the Russian Federation (hereinafter – RF), permanently living at the territory of RF and not participated in the First FRRC Contest among young FAIR groups leaders.

Winners will be selected by the specially formed commission on the basis of the submitted application review and presentation.

Terms of the Contest

Terms of the Contest are 2018-2022.

Financing*

Financial support will be provided in case of successful work in the form of money reward and reimbursement of expenses for business trips for participation in joint research work, participation in conferences, seminars and meetings related to the topic of the project in amount of up to 4 mRUB per group per year. Procurement of the necessary equipment and materials could be financed in the scope of the project.
