Dear FRRC fellows,
FRRC is pleased to announce Transport Theory week to be held on November 12th – 16th at FRRC, ITEP.
Physics emphasis will be on the physics of CBM and NuSTAR, however also topics relevant for the PANDA community will be investigated.
During the week several phenomena of transport theory will be discussed. The underlying equations will be motivated and explained. Modern applications will be discussed with special focus on heavy ion collisions at FAIR energies.
Each day starts with lectures on transport theory and heavy ion physics. The afternoons are reserved for discussions and exercises.
In hands-on tasks the participants will simulate heavy ion collisions and extract meaningful observables. Solutions will be given in the evening.
Basic programming skills are necessary; especially Fortran and Perl are helpful, however not required. The UrQMD model will serve as an example during the week, so it certainly is helpful to familiarize yourself with the model.
Please, note that for CBM, NuSTAR and PANDA community fellows participation is required.
The application deadline October 15, 2012.
