Seventh Call for Applications among students, PhD students and young PhDs for 2016

FSBI “SSC RF ITEP” of NRC “Kurchatov Institute” announces the Seventh Call for Applications among students, PhD students and young PhDs for 2016 for FAIR related research at institutions in the Russian Federation.

The project proposal must deal with research and development (R&D) of FAIR accelerator complex or with the experimental installations and detectors planned for the FAIR project. Fellowships can be carried out in all scientific fields listed in enclosure 1.

1.  Applications in English and Russian which must be filled in the specific form (disqualifying criteria);

2.  Short e-mail confirmation of interest on proposed R&D from collaboration leader is necessary. All confirmations for applicants from the same collaboration can be summarized in one e-mail.

3. Consent to the proceeding of personal data.

The selection of proposals will be carried out by FRRC with the support of independent experts. Appropriate contracts with winners are to be concluded after the selection.

Selection criteria and financial conditions:

Master student fellowship: students for the FRRC fellowship must successfully complete 4-th year of one of certified Russian universities (or institutes). Applicant must be a permanent resident of the Russian Federation. He/she must be recommended by a Russian supervisor and a GSI/FAIR collaboration leader.

The duration of the fellowship must be one year and includes possibility of financial support of visits to GSI/FAIR/FRRC as well as taking part in FAIR-related seminars and meetings. The maximum allowable funding for a master student fellowship is up to 464550,00 RUR for one year. This will include a monthly individual financial support and travel costs (including transport and accommodation).

PhD fellowship: applicant must be a citizen and permanent resident of the Russian Federation. The young scientist must be already registered as working towards a PhD (studying for a candidate degree or appliance in the RF). He/she must be recommended by a Russian supervisor and a GSI/FAIR collaboration leader.

The duration of the fellowship must be one year and includes possibility of financial support of visits to GSI/FAIR/FRRC as well as taking part in FAIR-related seminars and meetings. The maximum allowable funding for a PhD fellowship is up to 609900,00 RUR for the one year. This will include a monthly individual financial support and travel costs (including transport and accommodation).

Postdoctoral fellowship: applicants must be 35 years of age or less at the submission deadline, must be working on a scientific position in one of the Russian scientific institutions and must have at least 5 publications. Applicant must be a citizen and permanent resident of the Russian Federation. He/she must be recommended by a GSI/FAIR collaboration leader.

The duration of the fellowship must be one year and includes possibility of financial support of visits to GSI/FAIR/FRRC as well as taking part in FAIR-related seminars and meetings. The maximum allowable funding for a PhD fellowship is up to 763800,00 RUR for the one year. This will include a monthly individual financial support and travel costs (including transport and accommodation).

 

*Financial support for the projects will be only provided when FRRC receives money for this Program.
