Fourth International FAIR school, Castiglione della Pescaia, 6-13 September 2015

FAIR-Russia Research Center in cooperation with Helmholtz Graduate School for Hadron and Ion Research (HGS-HIRe) organizes the Fourth International FAIR school, devoted to accelerators and scientific programs of FAIR. The School will take place on 6-13 September 2015 in Castiglione della Pescaia (Italy).

The School is aimed at participation of senior students, PhD students and PhDs from FAIR-partner institutions, PhD students from India and Poland, about 50 people in total. The scientific program includes all main pillars of FAIR science: accelerators, APPA, CBM, NuSTAR, PANDA; each day is devoted to one particular pillar. World experts will give lectures on topics listed above.

The School will be held in the format of lectures in the first half of the day and group work – in the second half. Tasks for group work are specifically created to encourage cooperation and group work of the participants. In the evening there will be meeting, on which unsolved tasks will be discussed and the results of the day summarized.

Up to 25 senior students, PhD students and PhDs, who have not been to any other FRRC-organized international School and who have shown significant results in study and work, will be selected to participate in School. Those who would like to participate should send an application to FRRC.

Participants will be chosen by the international organizing committe, which includes members of FRRC and HGS-HIRe. After selection all the chosen participants will receive an invitation to the School.

Applicants, who comply with the selection criteria listed above, should send a letter of recommendation from their scientific tutor to FRRC via e-mail. The letter of recommendation must include place of study/work of the applicant, scientific grade, FAIR collaboration and reasons why the applicant should go to the School.
